You can't afford the hospital bill.Ask them to reduce it.
Hospitals have financial assistance, hardship discounts, and other programs that can reduce what you owe.
You may qualify. We help you ask.
Upload your bill. We identify the hospital and amount, ask you a few questions, and write the request for you.
We turn your bill and household information into a specific request to the hospital. You'll get a letter asking the hospital to:
- consider you for financial assistance or hardship relief
- apply any discount or self-pay assistance you may qualify for
- tell you what documents they need to review your request
Start with the bill. We read it to identify the hospital and the amount, then ask two questions about your household.
Don't pay more than you have to.
Before you upload
- Your bill is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- It is never sold or shared with providers, insurers, or advertisers.
- You can delete it, and everything read from it, at any time.
- No account, no card, and no charge until you have seen what we found.
How this works
Nonprofit hospitals must maintain a written financial assistance policy and must consider applications for at least 240 days from your first bill. We identify your hospital, ask for your household size and income, and write a request that asks for their policy and application and puts your details in front of them. The hospital decides. We cannot promise an outcome.
