Terms of service

These terms govern your use of CutMediBill, operated by CareBear Inc.. By using the service you agree to them.

What the service does

You upload a US medical bill. We read the line items, compare each against published Medicare fee schedules for the relevant year and locality, and show you which charges sit above a benchmark rate. If you choose, we draft a letter you can send to your provider's billing office.

We are not a law firm

CutMediBill does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or advocacy. We do not act on your behalf, contact your provider for you, or negotiate for you. Nothing on this site or in any letter is legal advice. If you need legal advice, consult a licensed attorney in your state.

Accuracy and limits

Benchmarks are derived from public CMS fee schedule data. Our reading of your bill uses automated document analysis, which can misread a code, a figure, or a description. We exclude from our totals any line we cannot price, and we say how much of your bill was not assessed.

Benchmark rates are not the same as a fair cash price, and a provider may lawfully charge more than Medicare rates. We do not promise that any charge is incorrect, that any bill will be reduced, or that any provider will respond.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for reading any letter before you send it, for correcting anything that is wrong, and for sending it yourself. You confirm that you have the right to upload the bill you submit and that the information you enter is accurate.

Payment

Prices are shown before purchase and charged once, at the time of purchase, through Stripe. We do not store your card details. See our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Do not upload documents belonging to someone else without their permission, attempt to disrupt or overload the service, scrape or resell our output, or use the service to make claims you know to be false.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareBear Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a revised date. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of DE, United States.
